I think this table is a one-off, it looks to me that it might be a final year project by an art student for a degree show in the 60s.
It came from Penzance in Cornwall, maybe it was made by someone in the St Ives, West Cornwall area and influenced by the sculptural work of Ben Nicholson.
The table is very unusual in that the glass is supported at one end by a thick black pole, and at the other end a plank of shaped cherry wood.
It could be used as a dining table and would sit 6 to 8 people, but I think it would be far better used as a spectacular desk with a state of the art computer placed on it.
The table is in good general original condition, with just a few surface scratches on the glass. The table dismantles to three pieces with an allen key.
The measurements are 70½ inches wide, 35½ inches deep and 29½ inches high.
Delivery can be arranged to any part of the country. As a guide, delivery to London and most parts of the south of England would be £85. Collection is, of course, welcome.
